You can also search near a city, place, or address instead. This place sucks. It's crowded and the wait times are astronomical. My wait time today was over 2.5 hours.

The bathrooms are small for the amount of people here (only 2 stalls.) The one stall has no toilet paper, and the other has toilet paper but its all unraveled and on the floor. No paper towels either. I also want to note that someone in there smelled terrible. There is no circulation and its 98 degrees outside. The parking in the lot across the street is very expensive so I opted for a spot on the street in 2 hour parking- and ended up having to repay and move the car because it was over 2 hours. I want to vomit. Just give me my new drivers license already a-holes.
I came here today to get my ID/Camera Card updated and renewed since my address changed and to get a more current photo taken after losing a significant amount of weight. I came on a Saturday and it was very busy, I was there for about 2 1/2 hours total, which to me is a long wait, that's the downside.
The positive thing is I won't have to do this again for 4 years, the center is conveniently located in Center City, for the most part the staff are helpful and friendly. I'm glad I talked with the lady who took my photos, she said they do Camera Cards on Monday's but no other services. She also informed me that Tuesday's are busy, which I wouldn't have guessed. I wish I knew that they do Camera Cards on Monday's because I heard that they were closed Monday's, I think the other services are closed Monday's. A few suggestions on how to improve would be to improve wait times, possibly add free WiFi and have the bathrooms cleaner. I do think it's good that you can purchase your money order across the street, along with a snack or beverage to have while you wait.
They accept money orders, but not cash. I really like my new photo! I think it turned out great! There's not much to say about PennDot except that most of DMV employees are rude. First, your average waiting time is extremely long. Dear God, Please give us enough patience to get through our day at the DMV. Then, you get a number - based on your need (ID Card, new driver license, driver license renewal or replacement, changing name or address on driver license or ID, or reinstate suspended license).
Take a seat and wait in the gloom! My lucky number was called. 'Give me your number' the frowning face may ask you. Don't get confused with Lord Voldemort.
Personal Note: Now, for somone who have to get her driver's license renewed every couple of years, I HAVE to deal with employees with such a bad attitude. Every single employee, every single time. I mean 'those-who-must-not-be-named' are truly miserable with frowns drooping down to their knees.
If you care to consider my humble advice: - Try to be there first thing in the morning, and wait in-line, outside the door, 20-30 minutes before they open. You'll thank me. - Don't forget to bring your checkbook. No cash or credit card payment is accepted, only personal checks, or money orders.
- Also, bring your social security card, and two proofs of residential address --utilities bills would be sufficient. - In addition to that, If you were non-U.S. Citizen, you need to bring a valid passport and extra other documents. Foreign academic students (F-1 Visa holders) need to bring I-20, I-94, and (I-797 in needed). Students with Optional Practical Training (F-1 w/OPT) also need I-20 with OPT dates listed, I-94 and Employment Authorization (EAD) Card. The same applies for temporary Workers (H-1b) in addition to a written verification of employment. One and Half Yelps.
Honestly, one of the best DMV experiences I've had. I came with a camera card, and got a number within a minute of arriving. That line was kept rather short. I sat for under 10 minutes, hearing each of the desks announce their next number served, one after another. I was impressed at their efficiency. I thought - they must rush you while you're up there. But then, my number was called and to my surprise - the gentleman was polite, unhurried, professional and kind.
When it came time to sit for my new license picture, he even took 3 to get one that I liked. For something that will live in my wallet for the next 4 years, I was really grateful for that kind of attention. Even though it didn't take more than a minute to do, it meant a lot to me.
I sat back in the waiting area for a matter of moments, and before I knew it, I had my printed license in my hand and was out of there. I feel like they have perfected their processes to a science, and the attendants are pretty darn skilled at it. Not sure where I'll live in 2020, but I hope my experience is half this good wherever I end up for my next renewal!
I was not happy when I finally walked in about 2 days before the deadline The state of PA in their great wisdom decided to close the center near me that had parking and open this new center. There are still websites out there saying the office on Delaware Avenue with plenty of parking is open. I don't understand closing the office with parking And building a new office in the heart of center city shopping. I had to leave my car in my garage and take an Uber to have my photo taken for my driver license. However, this new center is a 100% improvement and there are enough windows and staff to get the job done quickly and easily.
Serial Number And Authorization Code For Avid Free Dv. The workers are pleasant and after all my anxiety about getting there, this new office was a pleasure. I am just so relueved that something I put off to close to the deadline is so very nice.
Everyone has their gripes about DMV- I heard them every time and everywhere. However this places gets a bad rap by default. Everyone here is go great!
Security and tellers. Came in 8:30 and ready to leave at 10am. NOT BAD when it comes to obtaining a PA ID card.
Furthermore, u get a hard copy of the ID before leaving the office. Unlike NY office that give you a piece of paper.
Great flow here with a decent number of tellers- can it be improved, of course! The bathrooms can be cleaner and they can employ more tellers. Air refresheners can help too. Take a number? Get your forms together in advance? Rule abiders are shoved aside and there's no penalty for rule breaking.
Done wrong, the DMV can be a horrific free for all. It's a TSA-level power trip, they will break your spirit and make you wait four plus hours. So how to do this right? Here's the secret to every DMV in Philly: They *can* work fast, but they don't until the end of the day. They waste time all day taking two hour bathroom breaks.
But they have to work at the end of the day, because they can't leave until everyone who got a number is served. The move is to show up at 3:30p. They might close the doors at 4:15p but everyone inside gets seen at a record pace at the day's end. What else do I wish I knew?
No toilet paper. Bring your own. And wipes for the never-cleaned antiquated eye test might have been useful. Don't look clean, personally, or wear nice things. Don't look others directly in the eye. Don't smile or show weakness. Don't expect help.
Bring headphones for screaming babies. Ya know, basic prison rules. And don't go before the end of the day. Misery loves company.
Except when waiting or working at this DMV. So I got took my number and found a good seat to myself all the way in the back corner. If I didn't have a smartphone I would have been even more of a miserable customer, although I didn't take my misery out on anyone, like some of the staff did here. After 30 minutes to an hour, my number was finally called. Of course, the photo machine shut down three times before my ID picture could finally be taken.
Lorraine was the most miserable, rude person in customer service I've ever had to deal with. After the machine broke, I realized that I hadn't signed my name. I asked her about this and she just snapped at me to sit in the chair. After multiple attempts, the photo machine finally worked and my ID was able to be processed. I asked her if I'd be getting a copy of my old ID to keep and she snapped at me again. I'm sorry for formerly being a Jersey resident and never having gone through this process before in PA. I actually said this to her and she responded by saying 'It's Friday afternoon and a holiday.'
That's no excuse. If your job is customer service, you need to have customer service skills. Backtrack 5 R3 Download Iso 32 Bit Kickass.
The only positive of this is experience is that my ID picture turned out great. I guess third time is a charm. As usual, i dreaded going to renew my license but the new photo card system is pretty slick.
Here is a breakdown of my 10minute visit to the DMV. Monday afternoon 1:43 - walked through the door at the dmv 1:45 - given my number and took my seat 1:47 - number called for the clerk, gave my info, signed up to be an organ donor, etc 1:49 - took my picture, reviewed for approval - ask if it look adequate, i said, 'sure' 1:50 - told to take a seat and wait for my card to be printed 1:52 - name called and given stunning new license 1:53 - out the door and on with the rest of my day A very painless experience. Make sure to register online beforehand and bring appropriate documentation.
Similar results not guaranteed. I had to get a new license because I am a new resident and I had an awful experience. I carefully went over what documents I needed as far as I could tell from what was listed online and it turned out I was missing something, so after waiting a couple hours and getting up to the desk, the guy that 'helped' me was soooooo rude and short with me. I went to go get what I needed and came back and I swear, this guy was so unnecessarily mean. He berated me about how 'THERE ARE SIGNS EVERYWHERE THAT SAY THAT YOU NEED THIS' And I thought to myself 'wow, how could I have been so dumb, i really thought I had been careful about getting everything I needed'. And so after I left him, I looked all over and NO where did it say I needed a check or money order to pay. The paperwork tells you the fee, but says nothing about the check or money order and there is no sign anywhere that says that either.
There were other people working there that were more pleasant, but most of my interaction was with one guy who I swear enjoys making people feel dumb. He was not helpful AT ALL. Not a great introduction to the city.
